Bio - Davey Barr
Davey was born in 1977. Growing up in Whistler BC provided the perfect environment for Davey to foster a love for all the mountains have to offer in biking and skiing. Over 30 years later, Davey has developed on his love for skiing and has become a world-class athlete in the process.
Davey’s ski racing career began when he joined the Whistler Mountain Ski Club at the age of 10. He started Alpine racing in local events on Whistler’s Dave Murray Downhill, and began to rack up some great results. Shortly thereafter, Davey was traveling to ski races all around the world representing Canada and his hometown of Whistler British Columbia. After Davey was tired of chasing gates, he decided to checkout the new and exciting sport of Ski Cross??. During Davey's twelve action-packed years of competing on the circuit, he managed to win Gold at Deer Valley, Utah in 2008; the first ever FIS World Cup Skicross on North American soil. He also grabbed the Bronze medal at the 2009 FIS World Freestyle Championships, in Inawashiro, Japan. To top it off, in 2010 he succeeded in placing 6th in his home town Olympics in Vancouver 2010. With the feeling of completing most of his goals in racing, he has decided it is time to get more involved in the Big Mountain scene; where his true passion lies…

Davey is also a proud Dad to his beautiful 6-year-old daughter, Ava Barr.
